Exploring magnetism in van der Waals materials
Short Biography
Kamminga focuses on the synthesis and characterization of various quantum materials, aiming to bridge the gap between condensed matter physics and materials chemistry. The main expertise and interest of Kamminga is in synthesis / crystal growth, X-ray diffraction and neutron scattering, and magnetic and superconducting properties of materials. Materials of interest include, but are not limited to, (novel) van der Waals magnets, (high-temperature) superconductors and materials exhibiting frustrated magnetism, such as spin liquids. Kamminga has previously received NWO Rubicon and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships, for stays at the University of Oxford and University of Copenhagen, and is the newly appointed TT assistant professor directly funded through QuMat.
