Short Biography

Roberto Lo Conte is an Assistant Professor at the University of Groningen, who focuses on the study of topological properties of magnet-superconductor hybrid systems.
His group explores spin textures in 2D magnetic systems and the interplay between those spin textures and superconductivity, down to the atomic scale. He is an expert in the investigation of hybrid quantum materials via low-temperature spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy (SP-STM) and spin-polarized low energy electron microscopy (SPLEEM).
He received a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship in 2017 and two DFG (German Research Foundation) research grants in 2021 and 2022.
